Clariant's presence in India through its affiliates goes back more than five decades. Its journey began in 1947 with the founding of Sandoz Products Limited. From having a single affiliate in India, Clariant progressively acquired Colour-Chem Limited and its subsidiary Vanavil Dyes & Chemicals Limited when it integrated the Hoechst specialty chemicals business into its operations in 1997. Thereafter, the acquisition of BTP plc in 2000 brought a fourth company BTP India Pvt. Limited into its fold.

With technological support from its world-wide affiliates and expertise, Clariant (India) Ltd. has made a strong presence in many premium segments of the Indian Plastics Industry and with the local facility, it is poised to make a quantum leap in this industry and further fulfilling the Clariant Masterbatches Division slogan of “Around the Corner – Around the World”. 

So far the Clariant organizations in India were certified by different Certification agencies. Since Nov 15, 2005 under a Global Management System a Global Certification for ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 has been achieved through International Agency SQS (Swiss Quality International). The local Certification agencies agencies have since been discontinued and the System will be audited through Global Management Systems and the Certifying agency SQS
